Summer 2008 Soccer Camp

This was the third soccer camp to be run at Lawford Junior Football Club, School Lane, with over sixty boys and girls attending from years one to seven. The camp has grown in numbers each time and is now a regular summer and Easter event. We offer two days of grass roots soccer with a smile, from simple basics to technical skills along with team tournaments and two challenges, all of which are rewarded with medals and trophies. Along with this each child receives a certificate of achievement and a free gift.

These events would not be possible without the help of every volunteer here. The club thanks John Duchars, Rob Scott, Sam Gooch, Ben Spencer, Adam Harrod, Brett Ainger, Alex Duchars, Jake Bird and Shaun Johnston. Our coaches (who also run teams at LJFC) are FA qualified, CRB checked and trained in first aid. Our other volunteers are boys from LJFC that have just qualified or are due to take their FA badge. The two days of hard work and organizing are well worth the happy faces we see on the boys and girls, and I believe the volunteers enjoy the occasion just as much as the children.

It’s a really fantastic event we all await and thoroughly enjoy. Long may it continue!
