Lawford Junior Football Club

Lawford Juniors has achieved FA Charter status. The Charter Standard Scheme is best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing experience for all. Follow this link for more information.

There are exciting times ahead for the club as the long talked about new clubhouse/changing facility becomes closer. As I write the club is in the process of having plans drawn up to enable planning permission to be sort.

The Football Club is one of the best run clubs in the Essex and we should be very proud of what we have all achieved, this said we are always in need of more help, whatever form that may take, so if you are able to assist the Club please do not hesitate to contact the secretary or myself.

Finally I would like to wish all our teams a successful season and I look forward to watching as many games as possible at School Lane.

Best regards, Dave Cooper. (Chairman)

News & Notices

This season the Club has set-up an U18's team as an initiative to help players bridge the gap from playing in an U16's team to Senior/Open football, and for many it is an opportunity to carry on playing. Whilst some players are able to make the progression to Senior football seamlessly, the majority need/prefer to play for another 2 years at the intermediate U18's level.

For those players who no longer wish to play football but do want to continue their involvement in youth football, the Club will continue to support those who have proved their commitment and interest in coaching or refereeing. The Club and young players certainly benefit from their enthusiasm and experience as do they themselves and youth football in general.

The Club now supports in the region of 270 young people playing football and I would just like to stress that the help of Club members is needed more than ever, so if you are able to spare some time, please don't be shy coming forward. There are a multitude of roles, requiring various levels of commitment and time. It is YOUR Club and we can ALL build on and benefit from the recent successes TOGETHER.

I wish our Teams, Players, Managers/Coaches and all Club members a very successful season and look forward to seeing you at School Lane.

To encourage and promote youth football with equal opportunity for all at Lawford and the surrounding areas. To promote the playing of football in a sportsman like manner. “Children First!”

Welcome to the 2008/9 season. The Club has continued to grow and this season there are 19 teams (an increase of 2 on last season), 16 are registered to play in the Colchester and District Youth League, with the Under 7's and the Girls teams in addition to that.

There are 5 teams playing Mini-Soccer and 11 teams playing 11-a-side league football. Needless to say, with a further increase of 2 teams our resources and facilities are once again being stretched to the limit. It's certainly an indication of how successful the Club has been in recent years and not something that is taken for granted.

Lawford Junior Football Club is ClubSX accredited. The scheme is run by Essex County Council and is designed to assess and verify a sports club quality and safety.
